Sources say that yoga is growing in popularity in the U.S. as a complementary therapy for children with special needs and autism, with increasing numbers of schools and parents participating in programs around the country. Some say that, in addition to benefits typically associated with yoga—improved strength and flexibility, and an increasing sense of peace—children on the ASD spectrum also experience a reduction of pain, anxiety, aggression, obsessive behaviors, and self-stimulatory activities. Moreover, children are also having greater success making new friends and regulating emotions.
Therefore, we are happy to announce that, on April 10th at 4 pm, the ReACH group is hosting Kids Yoga for youth on the autism spectrum at Evolve to Harmony Yoga at 132nd and Center. The cost is $15 for the first child and then $10 for each additional child.
