Description: Autism Action Partnership's Annual Autism Summit is on November 19, 2014 at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha. The Summit will feature two great Keynote Speakers: Marty Murphy, an adult with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Alyson Beytien, BCBA, MS, mother of three sons with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Intended audience is anyone affected by autism - parents, professionals, caregivers, extended family members, individuals on the spectrum, etc.

Alyson Beytien is a popular speaker, trainer and mother of 3 sons with autism. She does training and consulting throughout the U.S. and Canada. Alyson is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has a Masters degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders from the University of Kansas. Alyson is a Behavior Analyst for Hills and Dales in Dubuque, IA where she is involved in assessment, intervention and training.   She is the author of “Autism Everyday” which received the 2012 Literary Work of the Year for the Autism Society of America. Alyson is cheerfully addicted to Diet Coke, loves to quilt and read, and is trying to learn the meaning of the word “relax.”

Marty Murphy is an adult with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Marty attended public school in central Illinois where she was born and raised. She moved to Tucson where she attended  the University of Arizona. Marty graduated with a degree in Sociology/Criminological Research and minored in Psychology through the U of A S.A.L.T. program. She also attended Pima College in Arizona and specialized in deaf education. Marty studied to be a chef in Ireland at the Ballymaloe Culinary School. She practiced her trade for the first time off the island of St. Maarten on a scuba vessel, the Caribbean Explorer. Marty was successfully employed for 12 years at Anderson Financial Network, Inc. before recently being laid off. She is actively involved in the autism community and presents nationally to provide parents, school peers, and educators a better understanding of the world of autism.
