| Autism Family Network (AFN) This Lincoln-area support organization meets monthly. It alternates months between family fun events and informative events with relevant speakers on topics of interest. Fun events are usually held in the community (swimming, skating, movies, children’s museum, etc.). Informational meetings usually take place the second Sunday of the month at Christ Lutheran Church at 44th and Sumner. Events are typically scheduled only about a month in advance. | Omaha Autism Family Support Group This group meets the first Monday of the month from 6 to 8 pm at Pump It Up, 960 South 72 Street in Omaha. | Support Group for Siblings of Children with Autism This free support group, sponsored by Autism Action Partnership, meets weekly in four-week intervals. Younger elementary, upper elementary, middle school and high school children are welcome. The group’s goal is to increase siblings’ understanding of their brother or sister’s disability and help them feel more positive about themselves and their role. Includes exercises, games, group discussions and activities to provide a better understanding of autism and to foster exploration of the feelings and attitudes associated with living with a brother or sister with autism.
