Youth Performers Wanted! for "It's Our School, Too!"
Time: If interested, please attend one of the following two sessions:
Session 1: 10:00-11:30 am
Session 2: 12:30-2:00 pm
Location: Room HPER 234 on the UNO Campus
Description: Based on interviews with youth, "It's Our School, Too!" explores the current realities for high school youth with intellectual disabilities. Told with honesty and humor, the play examines the barriers to participation faced by youth, as well as the world of possibilities when youth with and without disabilities come together to create meaningful school change. Rehearsals will be July 12-16 at UNO, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Performances will be July 19 & 20 at UNO's Strauss Performing Arts Center.
Intended Audience: Cast: 10-20 youth, ages 14-18, with and without intellectual disabilities. Instead of an audition, there will be an information session/drama class for interested youth.
Cost: No cost.
