Behavioral Learning Center (BLC) provides an intensive level of service to youth ages 2 to 12 who may require a higher level of supervision and structure than what is provided in a traditional childcare setting. BLC may be accessed to help children stabilize in a childcare setting. BLC accepts children who have mild to severe behavioral problems and/or have not been successful in other childcare settings. The BLC Coordinator will complete an assessment of each youth and create an individualized care plan based on developmental, emotional and behavioral information provided by the youth’s legal guardians or community professionals.
Service goals of Visinet, Inc.'s BLC are: 1) to enhance the ability for the child(ren) to maintain in a stable childcare environment, 2) to provide structured activities that will help the child control and/or prevent behavior outbursts that have prevented them from attending traditional childcare settings, 3) to provide, refer to, and coordinate services needed to achieve or maintain family safety, stability, independence, and unity, 4) to provide a structured Behavior Modification Plan to assist each child in being successful in transitioning back to a traditional childcare setting and 5) maintain the youth in the least restrictive environment and help prevent discharge to a high level of care (i.e. inpatient child and adolescent mental health treatment center). BLC has a licensed therapist on site at all times and a Behavioral Specialist who works directly with the children and helps with behavioral challenges as they arise.
Respite care is available for children who are enrolled at the BLC. An after-school program is available.
Cost:
Level 3: Diagnosed with a moderate to severe mental or emotional disorder and displaying behaviors $9.50 per hour or $76 per day
Level 2: Diagnosed with mild to moderate mental or emotional disorder and displaying behaviors. $8.50 per hour or $68 day
Level 1: Not diagnosed or on prescribed medications but is displaying severe behavior $7.50 per hour or $60 per day.
