Prosper Academy

A two-year post-secondary on campus educational program designed to promote independent living, self-sufficiency, and social skills for young adults with autism.

Housing

Prosper Academy students in our 2022-24 cohort reside at the Newman Center dormitory, located at 71st and Pacific Streets. Each student has their own room in a suite shared with up to three other residents. The Newman Center is a modern and secured dormitory reserved only for full-time enrolled college students.

Curriculum

Prosper Academy uses four instruction modalities: traditional in-classroom lectures, community-based classrooms, immersion social and leisure activities, and seminars led by sector subject matter experts. In-classroom instruction utilizes Learn4Independence®, a licensed curriculum used in transition programs across the country. All students participate in individualized goal setting and long-term transition planning.

Partners

AAP takes an interdisciplinary approach to learning by coordinating learning opportunities with higher education institutions, residence life, clinical providers, and other community partners.
